Amber Lane Takes Melbourne by storm

It’s been awesome doing so well at international events this year, but nothing is so sweet as recognition locally. At Australia’s premium spirits competition last week, Amber Lane was the second highest performing whisky producer in Australia, winning three gold medals and a silver medal from its 4 entries, and achieving the second highest-scoring single whisky expression of the show, with Equinox.

The Australian Distilled Spirits Awards, organised by the Royal Melbourne, are the most prestigious spirits Awards in Australia. A total of 970 separate entries covering a range of spirits categories were entered this year.  There were 144 entries in the whisky section, from which only 16 achieved gold medal status.

To get gold medals for each of Silk Road (second release), Sleigh Bells (second release) and Equinox was an incredible result. Noble Lane (second release) just missed out on a gold medal, scoring high 80s.

Amber Lane’s results were so good that we were one of the 5 finalists from 246 separate distilleries across all spirits categories, for the title of Australia’s Champion Distillers for 2023.  We were ranked the second highest of the whisky producers from across all of Australia.

At the Melbourne Whisky Show two days later, Amber Lane’s second edition range of whisky was a huge hit with fans. Using a special show app, attendees rated Silk Road (second edition) as one of the very best whisky on pour at the show, matching it with the most celebrated whisky brands in the world!
